Literary Analysis #1 for The Girl with Glass Feet
For my literary book, I have chosen to read The Girl with Glass Feet. It is written by Ali Shaw and is about a young girl named Ida who once vacationed in the mystical St. Hauda's Land. During her vaction on this mysterious island, she developed a disease that began to take root in her feet. She was turning to glass. Now, she has returned to the island to find a cure before the glass takes over her whole body. Once there she meets Midas, who has lived on the island his whole life. They develop a friendship where he helps her come to terms with her illness, and slowly, they begin to fall in love. The theme that I think is prevalent in this book is love. Midas falls in love with her no matter what she looks like, Ida still has the ability to love even though she is being overtaken by this disease, and they both create a deep and ever-lasting bond that will continue on even after they are both gone.
